Moreton

Most people will not have heard of the village of Moreton, in Dorset, but it does a former, well known resident, who now resides in the churchyard.

Lawrence of Arabia, T. E Lawrence was living in Clouds Hill, a cottage he bought from his Frampton cousins, who owned the village estate. He died, as a result of a motorcycle accident, near to his cottage and was buried in the Frampton family plot in the churchyard there,

The church did have stained glass windows but was hit by a bomb in the second World War and is unusual in that when the damage was repaired the windows were replaced by etched glass, rather than stained.

It's believed the bomb had been intended for the nearby MOD Bovington Camp.
