Skeggie

After a relaxing weekend in The Fens, we were back on the road. It was a delight to be passing through the area at that time of the year, as many fields were full of bulbs in flower.

Our next campsite was Skegness, not because we particularly wanted to go there but we needed to break the journey as we headed North, up the East Coast and there are just not too many sites in the area.

On the way we stopped off in Boston. We'd been told by our friends that there is a great deal of resentment there amongst the locals because of the vast number of Eastern Europeans living there, taking jobs and houses. I do tend to take these sort of reports with a pinch of salt but the hour we parked up and walked around the Cathedral area, I only heard English being spoken by one person, the rest were clearly Eastern European and there was a fair bit of drinking riverside, so maybe the reports here are not so exaggerated?

The following are some photos taken around Boston.

When we arrived at the Site in Skegness, to be frank, it was a bit bleak, like being in a car park but there was a gate which opened straight onto the beach, which made up for the less than attractive Site. As soon as we'd hooked up, we went for a good long walk.
